What do I do

Since the mid-2010s, Europe has moved closer to the Silicon Valley model, i.e. investors would rather speak to the CEO.

This does not mean though that entrepreneurs are savvy about how to tell their story, who to speak to, and how to approach them.

This often includes selecting and managing the investment bank which will help with pre-IPO financing, IPO or M&A exit.

The pedigree of the technology, how bleeding edge the science is, and how well protected the IP and know-are matter/

Quality of founder(s)

Track record, resilience and ability to stand straight AND listen.

Calibre of the team assembled

The calibre of people which the company has already attracted (investors, Board members, advisers, etc.).

I have a particular interest in deeptech, both software (AI, cyber, etc) and hardware (material, semis, robotics). I also follow keenly what happens in health-tech (where digital tech meets healthcare) and frontier-tech (space, food, genomics, etc.).
